A plant-derived thickener that gives the essence its smooth gel-like texture.
1,2-Hexanediol
A solvent and formulation-support ingredient that also assists product preservation.
Rice Extract
Oryza Sativa extract used for its skin-conditioning and antioxidant properties.

Why we brought it to New Zealand
A genuine first-hand experience.
Edward initially purchased both ampoules directly from overseas for his own use, at a landed cost of approximately $80–$90. His experience with the products helped inspire Lexy, the store owner, to make the pair available locally as a more accessible set.
“I used the Black Rice Ampoule on my nose and chin. As I massaged it in, the formula began to pill almost immediately. I rinsed it away, then moisturised, and felt that the blocked pores through my T-zone looked noticeably clearer. I’ve also used it in the same way on the backs of my hands.
I had been disappointed by other products in the past. The closest comparison from my own experience was Origani’s Manuka Honey Peel. It became difficult to obtain in New Zealand, meaning I had to source it from Australia, at a cost of NZ$299 for a 50 ml pot. The Viareline Rice Ampoule is the first product I’ve found since that gives me a comparable exfoliating experience.”

Edward’s personal routine
How I use it.
This is the method I use to achieve the results described above.

Apply to clean, dry skin
I apply a small amount, avoiding the immediate eye area.

Massage gently
I massage the product in gentle circular motions for approximately 10 seconds.

Rinse and moisturise
I rinse thoroughly with warm water, then follow with my preferred moisturiser.
Personal-use and safety note: I find the effect immediate and noticeable, which can make it tempting to keep massaging a stubborn area. I do not recommend repeatedly cleansing or rubbing the same spot: over-exfoliating can leave the skin irritated or visibly grazed the following day. I use the product sparingly, no more than once or twice per week. The packaging describes the essence as a leave-on product, so my rinsing method is a personal choice rather than the manufacturer’s instruction. Patch test before first use, stop using it if irritation occurs, and follow the directions supplied with your product.

In-stock orders are dispatched from New Zealand. We aim for same-business-day dispatch when an order is received before courier collection; orders received later, on weekends or on public holidays are dispatched on the next business day.

- NZ Post rural delivery costs an additional $6 and must be selected at checkout for rural delivery addresses.
- Tracking details are provided when available. Courier timeframes are estimates and may be affected by events outside our control.
- International delivery is not currently available through the online checkout. Contact us before ordering from outside New Zealand.
Returns, faults and refunds
If your order arrives damaged, incorrect or faulty, contact us promptly at lexie@viareline.co.nz with your order details and, where useful, photographs. We will work with you on the appropriate remedy.
Because skincare is a personal-use product, we generally cannot accept a change-of-mind return after an item has been opened or used. This does not limit any rights you have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. Where the Act applies, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund if goods are faulty, unsafe, do not match their description or are not of acceptable quality.
Please contact us before returning anything so we can provide the correct return instructions and address.
Privacy
We collect only the information reasonably needed to process and deliver orders, provide customer support, handle returns, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations. This can include your name, contact details, delivery address and order information.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Viareline does not receive or store your complete card number. We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers such as Stripe and delivery companies only where needed to provide the service, or where required by law.
